Grief Support Group
Tidewater Pastoral Counseling, in partnership with Simonsdale Presbyterian Church, will be hosting a grief support group. We will be meeting at Simonsdale Presbyterian Church for starting February 13th, 2020 and will continue every Thursday for 13 weeks. This group will be led by our counselor, Kay Dezern.
Our support group is a faith based group for those experiencing the death of a loved one. We offer help for your grief journey in a safe and confidential setting with others experiencing the same sense of loss. This is done with videos, lessons, and facilitation by one with decades of experience in grief work. You are invited to one of all of the thirteen weeks of help for your grief journey as you find a new normal. The loss doesn’t have to be recent to attend the group meetings.
We understand that there are other losses in life that create feelings of grief. You might be experiencing a job loss, a divorce, estrangement from a child, or the loss of friends because of a move. This grief is real, but it is not the kind of grief discussed in GriefShare sessions. If you are experiencing other types of loss, we encourage you to please contact Tidewater Pastoral Counseling for special one on one support.

One of the most difficult parts of care-giving is the sense of isolation the care provider experiences. We hope that our caregivers support group will help to counteract that isolation by offering time to share with others experiencing the same challenges, providing information from elder care specialists, and learning together from resources on the topic.
Meetings will provide a safe and confidential space for learning and sharing.
